Meet Your Nutritionist

Hello there!

I’m Nikki, a board-certified Functional Nutritionist, wellness educator, and the heart behind Rooted Spirit Wellness. My approach is rooted through my own experience, a deep reverence for healing, and a commitment to helping others reconnect with their bodies, their intuition, and the rhythms of nature.

I was raised in New Jersey, where my early years were filled with softball games and spending time with friends & family. I pursued academics and athletics throughout college, initially working toward a degree in Physical Therapy. But a personal injury, and the recovery that followed, sparked a change of direction. As I journeyed through the healing process, I found myself drawn not just to recovery, but the why behind how the body breaks down, how it rebuilds, and how lifestyle patterns shape our health. This curiosity led me to shift paths, ultimately earning a Bachelor’s in Health and Wellness from The University of Arizona.

My passion deepened further in 2021, when I completed a certification in Functional Nutrition through the Functional Nutrition Alliance. Today, I am proud to be board-certified by the American Association of Natural Wellness Practitioners. I continue to further my education by enrolling in relevant courses and studies to support clients.

Throughout my life, I have witnessed the toll of chronic illness and the heartbreak of loss. Losing my mother after her 14-year battle with brain cancer, along with the passing of three of my grandparents and other loved ones to chronic disease, profoundly shaped my relationship with health, healing, how I choose to live, and how I show up to support others. Alongside those experiences, I have faced my own struggles with mental health, grief, gut health, hormone imbalance, and burnout. These hardships became my greatest teachers, and ultimately, the catalyst for creating Rooted Spirit Wellness: a space for healing, nourishment, and reconnection.

My relationship with food deepened alongside my healing. What began as a teenage curiosity in the kitchen, to then moving away from processed snacks toward simple home-cooked meals, blossomed into a lifelong love for nourishing and intentional eating. Over the years, my journey led me into the world of seasonal cooking, plant-based living, and fine dining. Working in high-end, farm-to-table restaurants gave me a deeper appreciation for food as art, storytelling, and connection to the Earth.

Blending my expertise in nutrition with years of experience in fine dining and seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine, I view food as a powerful gateway to healing. Over time, I’ve explored a variety of ways of eating and living, drawing inspiration from local, seasonal produce, medicinal herbs, and nutrient-dense ingredients that nourish the body, support radiant health, and foster sustainable well-being.

Today, I continue to embody this knowledge into every aspect of my work, offering personalized nutrition care, holistic wellness guidance, and thoughtfully curated meals that nurture body, mind, and spirit.

Through Rooted Spirit Wellness, I invite you and others to experience food as medicine, ritual, and joy: to root down, rise up, and live well, naturally. ♡ ♡ ♡
